International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM)
The International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM) is an international academic society dedicated to advancing the science, technology, and clinical application of ceramic materials and ceramic-based systems in medicine and dentistry.
The term “ceramics in medicine” broadly encompasses the use of ceramic materials and related technologies for medical and dental applications, including diagnosis, treatment, tissue repair, and regeneration. This field is commonly referred to as bioceramics.
ISCM provides a forum for researchers, clinicians, engineers, students, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss progress in ceramics in medicine and related biomaterials. The Society promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among materials science, chemistry, biology, medicine, dentistry, and engineering.
Mission
The mission of ISCM is to contribute to healthcare and human well-being through the development and application of ceramic materials, ceramic-based systems, and related technologies in medicine and dentistry.
Annual Meeting: Bioceramics
The International Society for Ceramics in Medicine (ISCM) organizes its annual international meeting under the name Bioceramics.

As the annual meeting of ISCM, it may also be described as:

These designations reflect the history of Bioceramics as an international symposium and its role as the annual meeting of ISCM.
Bioceramics brings together participants from universities, research institutes, hospitals, and industry. The meeting provides a forum for presenting scientific findings, discussing current and emerging research topics, establishing international collaborations, and supporting the next generation of researchers.
The proceedings of past meetings have traditionally been published under the title Bioceramics, followed by the corresponding volume number.
International Community
ISCM welcomes researchers and professionals from throughout the world. The Society values scientific integrity, open discussion, interdisciplinary cooperation, and mutual respect.
